Raw Therapee

If you are the lucky person with a digital camera that can shoot in Raw mode but have never considered it, you should definitely try that experience.
Why raw?
Because it’s like Linux, if you shoot in raw mode you are in the drivers seat.
Raw is like the word says: pure, not manipulated, not developed yet.
All the after processing like:
- demosaicing
- sharpening
- contrast
- saturation
- white balancing
- …
is done by you on your computer with a raw converter.

Raw Therapee
Raw therapee is a great raw converter. Since version 3.0 it’s under GPL and open source.
You can download it from http://www.rawtherapee.com or install the latest stable version 2.4.1 with your Linux package manager by adding:
deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu lucid-getdeb apps
to your /etc/sources.list
